Somehow this one slipped by us this week – Robert Downey Jr.officially jumped ship on Alfonso Cuaron’s outer space survival thriller Gravity, and has moved on to producing and possibly starring in How to Talk to Girls, a film based on a book by 9-year old Alec Greven. In the story, Oskar discovers a key in a vase that belonged to his father, a year after he is killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks. The discovery inspires Oskar to search all around New York for information about the key.No ink has been committed to paper just yet, but sources say that Downey is circling the project with great interest.Shawn Levy, who is also slated to produce, has said that the script (written by Ben Karlin and Stu Zicherman) is in the tone of Big.
I highly recommend this series if you enjoy Riordan's books, Rowling's Harry Potter series and Suzanne Collin's Gregor the Overlander series.
The Kane Chronicles is another series we read and continue reading with new releases.
Non-fiction also increased because of his interest in Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology inspired by Riordan's books.
Silky books like Horrid Henry crept in and comic books such as the Calvin and Hobbes series but kept at a minimum.
Captain Underpants (sp) books are banned in my home as well as Barney the Purple Dinosaur and anything Teletubbies when he was much younger (and that's anyother story).
